Opposing World Views

You can always tell who's a liberal and who's a conservative.  Liberals believe that forces outside them are making things "bad": Republicans, Oil Companies, Karl Rove, and lack of funding denied whoever by Evil Corporations.

Conservatives believe choices determine character.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation.  We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, be we rather have those because we have acted rightly.  We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
